While other talking therapies deal with the conscious mind — the part you’re using right now to read this — hypnotherapy engages your subconscious. This is where all your experiences, knowledge, memories and habits and stored, even when you’re unaware of them from a conscious point of view.
By inducing a trance state, we are able to effectively access the subconscious and reframe, or release, negative experiences, belief systems, emotions, and habits with positive suggestions and imagery. We can also use positive suggestions to instill confidence and motivation, among many others, and strengthen the connection to our inner voice.

What should I expect?
Before we meet, you will be given an intake form and a questionnaire. At the first session, you can expect an interview, to gain clarity on the goal of the session and the history behind it, and then I will take you through a few pre-hypnosis exercises to gauge your susceptibility and how you process information. Once you’ve had the opportunity to experience hypnosis briefly, we will discuss any further concerns or reservations you may have. We will then move into the hypnosis portion of the meeting. After the hypnosis, we will have a post-interview during which we will discuss your experience. Any subsequent sessions will be based on your results.
How often should sessions be done? How many sessions do I need?
This depends on the issue. Some can be overcome in one session, others can take more. This will be discussed in the interview.
How long do sessions last?
A typical session lasts anywhere from 45-90 minutes, including interview, hypnosis session, and a post-session interview.
